What Are Buzzwords?
Wednesday, August 8th, 2007Have you ever looked at that cloud of words in the upper right corner of each Blern page labeled Buzzwords and wondered just what those things were?
Blern “crawls” through thousands of articles every day, carefully analyzing the content and trying to determine if each of the articles is something you (yes, you) would enjoy. As it considers the level of interest you might have in a given article, it also takes note that occasionally certain words will start generating a lot more discussion than they normally do. That is, they’ve got a lot of buzz in the news and blogging sites.
When Blern notices this, it starts tracking it and sometimes these words show up on the Buzzwords page.
What are Buzzwords for?
You can browse the sidebar cloud of Buzzwords, or the Buzzwords page and see what topics are hot and see the articles that caught Blern’s attention. If you want to be “in the know” of current events, pop culture, and more, Buzzwords are your gateway.
You can even subscribe to these words. When you do, all articles containing that word will show up on your My Buzzwords page.
But wait! There’s more!
Any word that appears in a news or blog article can be treated like a Buzzword–meaning that you can subscribe to it. In fact, if you do a search on Blern, the search results will include Buzzwords that match your search criteria. Do you use Tivo? If so, think of Buzzwords like a Tivo keyword wishlist!
Subscribing to Buzzwords is just one more way to use Blern to find articles that interest you.
